Sacramento police seek downtown bank robbery suspect

The Sacramento Police Department is searching for a man who robbed First Citizens Bank, the department said.

Just before 4 p.m. Nov. 10, a man estimated to be 40 years old entered the bank at 455 Capitol Mall. The man approached the teller, saying he was armed, and demanded an undisclosed amount of cash, Sacramento police reported in a news release.

The man was given the cash and fled on a bicycle, last seen wearing a blue hooded Gap sweatshirt, black pants and black shoes. He weighs about 180 pounds, police suspect. Police describe his bicycle as being a dark mountain bike, police said.

The Sacramento Police Department encourage any witnesses with information regarding the robbery to call the dispatch center at 916-264-5471 or Crime Stoppers at 916-443-4357. Witnesses can submit anonymous tips using the free “P3 Tips” smartphone app. All callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
