All southbound lanes of Highway 99 that were closed early Friday because of an overturned truck near Elk Grove Boulevard have reopened.
The California Highway Patrol issued an alert for motorists at 6:14 a.m. that the left lane on southbound Highway 99 was blocked due to the large truck hitting a guardrail. The crash site was listed as southbound Highway 99 just south of Elk Grove Boulevard on the CHP traffic incident website.
A witness said the truck driver was headed northbound on Highway 99 and flipped over the center divider into the southbound fast lane.
Traffic was slowed during the morning commute as the truck was uprighted and towed away. All lanes were reported open at 8:52 a.m.
