The suspect arrested in Saturday’s shooting death of a man in the Greenhaven area has been identified by Sacramento police as 24-year-old Myron Dailey of Sacramento.
Dailey was taken into custody shortly after the shooting, which was reported at 12:31 p.m. at Gloria Drive and Florin Road, but police had not released his name at the time. Police said Monday that they were not releasing Dailey’s booking photo because they were interviewing witnesses and didn’t want to compromise the case.
Officers found a man lying in the roadway Saturday afternoon and began life-saving efforts. The Sacramento Fire Department arrived and pronounced the man dead.
Officers canvassed the area for evidence and contacted witnesses, who said the gunman had fled to a nearby apartment complex. Officers found Dailey moments later inside an apartment.

Police said he surrendered and was arrested on suspicion of murder. He was being held in Sacramento County Jail without bail and was to appear in court Tuesday.
Preliminary information indicated that an argument between Dailey and the victim escalated and led to the shooting, police said. As of Monday afternoon, the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office had not released the name of the victim, saying family members were still being notified.
