A San Joaquin County sheriff’s deputy shot and killed a knife-wielding man Monday night in Stockton, officials said.
Dave Konecny, a spokesman for the San Joaquin Sheriff’s Department, said the deputy responded to a call about 6:30 p.m. about a person wielding a knife in the 2300 block of Waterloo Road.
Konecny said the deputy shot the man shortly after he arrived on scene. The man was taken to an area hospital, where he later died, Konecny said.
The incident is under a multiagency investigation, including the San Joaquin District Attorney and the U.S. Department of Justice.
