Placerville man named warden of California State Prison, Sacramento

David Baughman of Placerville has been appointed warden of California State Prison, Sacramento, in Folsom by Gov. Jerry Brown.

The appointment was announced Friday. Baughman, 51, has been the prison’s acting warden since 2016, according to a news release from the Governor’s Office.

He has served in several positions since 1991, including chief deputy warden and associate warden. Baughman was a correctional officer at California State Prison, Solano, from 1990 to 1991 and at the California Medical Facility from 1989 to 1990.

Compensation for the warden’s post is $145,440, according to the news release.
