A traffic safety program for teenage drivers that emphasizes the consequences of poor decisions behind the wheel will be presented Saturday in Elk Grove.
The 90-minute presentation of the program “Before the Impact” will begin at 9 a.m. in the Elk Grove City Council Cambers, 8400 Laguna Palms Way. The session will include hard-hitting feature stories, photos, clothing and the vehicle two brothers were in when an impaired driver crossed into their lane, killing them, according to an Elk Grove Police Department news release.
The program is intended to educate teenagers and adults about the effects of making bad decisions in a vehicle. It is offered throughout the year to service clubs, community organizations and Sacramento County high schools.
Seating for Saturday’s session is limited. To reserve a spot, call Misty Daily, community service officer, at (916) 862-0597, or email MDailey@elkgrovepd.org.
The presentation is sponsored by the Elk Grove Police Department, Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office and the California Office of Traffic Safety.
