One 18-year-old man was fatally stabbed and another was injured after they were involved in an argument that escalated into a fight Monday evening.
Deputies were called to the 6700 block of West Second Street in Rio Linda at 6:50 p.m. When they arrived they found an 18-year-old man who had been stabbed in the upper torso, according to a Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department news release. Deputies found another 18-year-old man inside the residence with major injuries to his hands.
Both men were transported to an area hospital, and the man who had been stabbed in the torso died of his injuries.
Sgt. Tony Turnbull, sheriff’s spokesman, said the two had had issues and the man who died had gone to the other man’s residence, where the two got into a fight. Turnbull said it had not been determined whether the man who survived would be considered the suspect or the victim.
