A 31-year-old man was crushed to death by his own car Saturday night after he was ejected from the passenger window during a fast turn and the car rolled onto him, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Just before 10:13 p.m., the man turned a corner too quickly onto Sampson Boulevard in a 2007 Chevrolet TrailBlazer, said CHP spokesman Michael Bradley. The SUV crashed into a parked vehicle between 37th Avenue and Iowa Avenue, spun out of control and ejected the man out of the passenger window.
He landed in a grassy area of an empty lot, and the TrailBlazer rolled onto him, Bradley said. People in the area rolled the car off the man, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. Bradley said the man appears to have been alone in the car. He will be identified by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office after his next of kin have been notified.
