Robbers invade Grass Valley home and strike homeowners with metal pipe

Home invasion robbers hit a Grass Valley couple who were surprised by the intruders just before bedtime.

Nevada County sheriff’s deputies went to a home in the 12000 block of Lost Lake Road in Grass Valley, where the home invasion robbery was reported. Deputies learned that as two homeowners were preparing for bed, they heard their dog bark.

As the male homeowner began to investigate, two men entered their bedroom, one with a metal pipe and the other with a firearm. One of the men wore a motorcycle-type helmet and the other had a partial face mask.

The couple were ordered to the floor. When they did not react fast enough to that demand, they were both struck with the metal pipe, deputies reported.

The robbers then ransacked the bedroom and living room, making off with small electronics, cash and jewelry, according to deputies.

The homeowners were treated at the hospital for their injuries.
