A man accused of robbing a gas station and shopping center in 2015 has been convicted by a Sacramento County jury.

Pierre Cleveland was found guilty Friday of robbing a Chevron station at 4700 Florin Road with a firearm and taking $5,600 at the Florin Shopping Center at 6005 Florin Road, according to a Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office release.

Cleveland robbed the sole employee at the gas station on Sept. 7, 2015, and shot a firearm twice before fleeing the scene. Twenty-two days later, he robbed a victim at the shopping center, withdrew $5,600 in cash and fled the scene by car.

Officers located Cleveland in a nearby parking lot soon after they obtained the fleeing vehicle’s license plate number. Cleveland was found with half of the victim’s money and a gun used in the first robbery.

Cleveland is facing up to 27 years and 8 months in prison, and he is scheduled to be sentenced June 2 by Sacramento Superior Court Judge Raoul Thorbourne.
