A boy with autism, missing for the third time since early March, has been found safe again.
The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department said the 12-year-old, reported missing from North Highlands in the morning Sunday, was found later that night.
Nathaniel “Nate” Lasater had last been seen leaving his home in the 5800 block of San Marcos Way on his mountain bike around 10 a.m. Sunday.
Lasater has been known to hitchhike, has boarded a freight train and has been located as far away as Modesto. He has no fear of strangers and will ask them for money or a ride, according to sherff’s deputies.

In March the sheriff’s department twice asked for the public’s help in locating the boy when he went missing from his home. He was found safe and sound both times.
