Man sought in UC Davis robbery, sexual battery

Three women reported they were robbed and sexually accosted by a man as they were walking on the UC Davis campus early Thursday morning, according to university police.

The incident occurred about 2:10 a.m. on the Dairy Road bike path, near the southeast corner of The Pavilion. A man, who had what appeared to be a toy gun, approached the three women as they were waking southbound on the path, asked the women to do something, touched two of them in a sexual manner and took one woman’s cellphone, according to a campus notice issued by police. The man then ran northbound toward the Activities and Recreation Center.

The man made no verbal threats to harm them, nor did he point the toy gun at them, according to police. The stolen cellphone was recovered.

The man is described as white, in his early 20s, 5 feet 9 inches tall, skinny, with black hair a quarter-inch to a half-inch long on top. He was wearing a white T-shirt with black sleeves, black jeans and carrying a navy-blue, draw-string-type backpack. The gun was described as a small, shiny black handgun.

Anyone with information pertaining to the case is asked to call the UC Davis Police Department at 530-754-2677.
