A Sacramento man died Thursday night when his car left a connecting ramp to Interstate 5 and hit a tree.
Aric Raymond Sands, 39, was driving his car on the connecting ramp from southbound Highway 99 to southbound I-5 about 10 p.m. at a high speed when he lost control, according to the California Highway Patrol.
His car left the east edge of the roadway and hit the tree on the right side of the vehicle. The car then spun around and rolled down backward to the bottom of an incline.
