One man was found dead and two other people were sent to the hospital with injuries that weren’t life-threatening Friday in what was reported to police as a stabbing at a south Sacramento apartment complex.
Officers were alerted of the incident at 10:47 a.m., when they received reports of a stabbing from a resident of the Aspen Park Apartments, in the 5200 block of Mack Road, said Officer Linda Matthew, department spokeswoman.
By Friday afternoon, crime scene tape surrounded a building at the center of the complex, where Matthew said two people were found outside with wounds that weren’t life-threatening. The pair, whom Matthew said she did not know ages for or whether they were men or women, were sent to the hospital.
An adult man was found inside the home with life-threatening wounds. Medics arrived to the scene and pronounced him dead.

Matthew said she did not know what type of injures any of the people wounded faced or if there was a relationship between any of the parties involved. The incident did not appear to be gang- or narcotics-related, she said.
“There was certainly some type of altercation,” she said. “Who was involved specifically? The detectives are trying to sort that out right now.”
Matthew said officers did not believe anyone fled from the home following the incident and that there was no outstanding danger to neighbors, she said.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the name of the man who died in the incident, she said.
