Parolees in parked car linked to Woodland burglary

Two parolees were arrested in Woodland after a Yolo County sheriff’s deputy spotted them in a parked vehicle in a residential area late Tuesday night.

A deputy traveling through the area of Inverness Drive and Lewis Avenue saw a vehicle parked in front of a home about 11:45 p.m. and contacted the two men inside the car, who were found to be on parole, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release. During the investigation, the deputy was approached by a nearby homeowner, who said it appeared someone had broken into her home.

Further investigation led to the arrest of the two men, who were identified as Mark Silk, 64, of Woodland and Michael Droegemeier, 40, of El Cajon. Both were booked into Yolo County Jail on suspicion of burglary and violation of parole.
