The ski mask might have worked as a disguise if a suspected burglar hadn’t raised his gloved hand in an apparent attempt shield his face from the surveillance camera at a Truckee business.

Truckee police officers responded Monday to a report of a burglary at a local business. The owner had noticed money missing from the cash register, and surveillance video showed an individual in a ski mask entering the business and taking money from the register, according to a Truckee Police Department Facebook post.

The business owner recognized the individual as a former employee because he was wearing a pair of of gloves she had given him a few days earlier, according to police.

Officers located the man, identified as Ti McDowell, and arrested him on suspicion of commercial burglary.
