A man was hospitalized after he was pulled Monday afternoon from under a light-rail train in downtown Sacramento.

The man was extricated by Sacramento Fire Department crews, according to a Fire Department tweet.

Wendy Williams, a spokeswoman for Sacramento Regional Transit, said the incident occurred about 2:20 p.m. when a man stepped in front of a slow-moving train on Eighth Street between I and J streets.

The man suffered minor injuries, she said.

The Gold Line was shut down for five to 10 minutes, Williams said.
