A man accused of burglarizing a south Sacramento County home and sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl Wednesday morning is sought by the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department.
Deputies responded about 11 a.m. to a 911 call reporting a burglary and sexual assault at a residence in the area of 40th Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. A man reportedly entered through a window and began taking property from the house. He then found a 12-year-old girl inside a bedroom and began to assault her, according to a Sheriff’s Department news release. The girl fought back and the man fled over a fence.
Deputies set up a perimeter and searched the area with the assistance of a police dog, but did not locate the man.
The intruder is described as Asian or Hispanic, approximately 20 years old, 5 feet, 11 inches tall with a thin build, shoulder-length black hair and a goatee.
