A man was stabbed in the upper torso allegedly by his girlfriend’s son late Saturday night near Foothill Farms, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department announced early Sunday.

The man, 31, died at the hospital after the stabbing. Deputies were called to the house in the 7000 block of Woodrick Way a little after 11:15 p.m., according to a Sheriff’s department press release. They attempted to save the man’s life and Sacramento Metro Fire transported him to a local hospital.

Deputies arrested 21-year-old Jacob Sanabria Sunday morning after detaining him at the scene as a suspect. Sanabria lived at the home with his mother and the victim, who was her longtime, live-in boyfriend, according to the Sheriff’s department. The attack appears to be unprovoked, a release said.

The victim’s identity will be released after his next-of-kin is notified. Sanabria is ineligible for bail and is scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday.

Assaults took different forms with some of the people on the current list of the Sacramento region's most-wanted fugitives. The robbery was more of a straight-forward affair for the week of June 19-24, 2017.
