A teenager missing since late Monday afternoon in the Chimney Beach area of Lake Tahoe has been found safe, the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office reports.
Sean Ascuaga, 17, of Reno, was found unharmed at Marlette Dam, Sheriff Ken Furlong told the Reno Gazette-Journal, who reported the teen will checked by paramedics before reuniting with family members. According to the newspaper, Ascuaga is the grandson of John Ascuaga, who owned the Nugget casino in Sparks for nearly 60 years.
He was last seen at the Tahoe beach late Monday afternoon, when he became separated from his group of friends.
The Carson City Sheriff’s Office said crews searched via air, boat, and foot, scouring the area along the Carson and Washoe County shorelines along Highway 28.
