Sacramento firefighters recovered a body Monday morning from the American River near Discovery Park.
Sacramento Fire Department crews used a boat to bring the body of a woman to shore. Sacramento County coroner’s deputies took custody of the body.
The body was spotted by a citizen about 7:30 a.m. Monday in the river, according to Sacramento Police Department spokesman Sgt. Matthew McPhail. She has not been identified.
Early indications are that the woman had not been in the water for more than a day or two, McPhail said.
