A man in his early 20s died Saturday in Washoe County, Nev., after being pulled from the water near Lake Tahoe’s Sand Harbor State Beach.
The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office responded at about 5 p.m. on Saturday to reports of the man’s drowning, notifying lifeguards with the Coast Guard who “got him out of the water very quickly,” said Sheriff’s Office spokesman Bob Harmon.
After lifeguards performed lifesaving measures, the man was transported to Incline Village Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead Sunday evening, according to Harmon.
The drowning appears to be accidental, Harmon said, but the Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office is still investigating the cause of death.
