A 3-year-old boy who went missing Saturday night near the pond at William Land Park has been found and reunited with his family, Sacramento police said just after midnight.

The Sacramento Fire and Police departments searched for 3-year-old Marcus Meja, who was reported missing at about 8:30 p.m. near the pond at William Land Park near 15th Avenue, according to tweets by the department. He was found on 13th Avenue, which borders the park, hiding in the bushes about midnight, police reported.

Fire crews combed the pond looking for Meja, based on a video the fire department posted. Fire officials said at 11:35 p.m. they had suspended their water search and the park was beginning the process of draining the pond.

The pond’s water level had fallen slightly when authorities found Meja and stopped the draining.

A law enforcement helicopter was overhead much of the night searching for Meja as well.
