Juveniles arrested in Placerville-area shoe store robbery

Two juveniles are in custody after allegedly robbing a Placerville-area shoe store.

The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office received a report at 12:53 p.m. Tuesday that two male juveniles had robbed the Payless Shoe Store at 3966 Missouri Flat Road. One of the youths held a knife as they took an undisclosed amount of cash from the register, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release. The two then left the store on foot.

Deputies found them a short time later at the In-N-Out Burger restaurant on Forni Road in Placerville.

The victim and witnesses identified the juveniles who committed the robbery, and video surveillance obtained from area businesses confirmed their identity, the news release said.

The youths were booked into El Dorado County Juvenile Hall on suspicion of robbery. Their names have not been released because of their age.

The Sheriff’s Office said the robbery appeared to be an isolated incident, and no one was injured.
