Officer Linda Matthew, Sacramento police spokeswoman, discusses investigation into deaths of two people at a home in the 5400 block of Bonniemae Way in south Sacramento.

Two people were found dead in a south Sacramento home Wednesday afternoon, according to the Sacramento Police Department.

Police received a call around 4 p.m. reporting the bodies in a home on the 5400 block of Bonniemae Way near Fruitridge Road, said Sacramento police Officer Linda Matthew. Police and fire officials found the bodies inside the house, Matthew said.

Matthew would not identify the genders or ages of the deceased, their relationship to each other or the manner of their deaths. Matthew also wouldn’t say whether police have any suspects in connection to the deaths, but she said police believe the deaths were part of an isolated incident.

Matthew said police were withholding some information until family members could be notified of the deaths.

A neighbor said she believed an older woman lived at the house but didn’t know who else may have lived there.

A portion of the 5400 block of Bonniemae Way north of 28th Avenue was expected to stay closed for part of Wednesday night as police investigated the deaths. Homicide detectives as well as crime scene investigators were called to the house.
