Police are searching for a suspect in a shooting early Tuesday that sent a man to the hospital with serious injuries, the Elk Grove Police Department said.
The department responded to a shooting report about 4:15 a.m. in the area of Di Lusso Drive and Risata Way, according to Officer Christopher Trim, department spokesman.
Officers found the victim suffering from at least two gunshot wounds to the abdomen and lower torso. Trim said police believe that the shooting resulted from a robbery that took place on the street.
Trim initially described the man’s injuries as life-threatening but said later in the morning that he is expected to survive.

Police are investigating the incident and have cordoned off an area of a few blocks near where the crime was reported, Trim said. He described the shooter as man who left the scene in a silver, two-door sedan.
“We’re searching for anyone who may have been in the area at the time and possibly fled,” Trim said.
