The Sacramento County Coroner's Office has identified the second person found dead last week in a south Sacramento home as 89-year-old Betty Mae Humphreys.

Humphreys and 68-year-old William Robert Hauge were found dead in a residence in the 5400 block of Bonniemae Way about 4 p.m. on Aug. 9.

A neighbor said her husband received a call from Humphreys’ niece saying she had been unable to reach her aunt. He entered the house through the garage to check on Humphreys and found the bodies.

Police have released little information about the case. Officer Linda Matthew, a police spokeswoman, said Thursday that the investigation remains active and evidence is still being processed. She said the coroner has yet to determine the cause of death.

Police have said there may be a family relationship between Hauge and Humphreys. A neighbor said Humphreys had lived in the home for decades.
