The Placer County Sheriff’s Office is offering up to $1,000 to tipsters who can help the agency find two men suspected of shooting a hiker’s car and truck Thursday near Foresthill Road, the office said.

While walking about 3 1/2 miles east of Deadwood Road, the hiker encountered two men in their 30s on orange-and-white early 2000 KTM dirt bikes, according to a post on the Sheriff’s Office’s Facebook page. Both men had shotguns on slings with them, the Sheriff’s Office said.

The hiker returned to his car and truck to find both damaged by shotgun blasts, according to the Facebook post. Pictures attached to the post show damage to the vehicles’ sides as well as a shattered front windshield on the car and what appears to be a flat tire on the truck.

The men wore white boots and orange-and-white gear to match their bikes and had a white ice chest and blue milk crate strapped onto their vehicles, the Sheriff’s Office said. Their guns had a composite stock and wood stock, respectively, according to the office.

Members of the public who have information about the suspects can call the Sheriff’s Office at 530-886-5375 or leave an anonymous tip with the Placer County Crime Stoppers at 800-923-8191 or tips.crimestoppers.com. A reward of up to $1,000 could be offered for information leading to an arrest, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Assault takes different forms, and new members of the Sacramento area's list of most-wanted fugitives are accused of displaying at least three kinds. The video is updated for the week of Aug. 14-20, 2017.
