A 9-year-old boy who was reported missing following a fatal shooting in Santa Maria has been found safe.
The California Highway Patrol announced Tuesday evening that the Amber Alert for Daniel Morozov had been deactivated after the boy was safely located. No details were available.
On Monday, Santa Maria Police Department officers were called to a shooting at 230 N. College Drive, where they found the shooting victim. As a result of the investigation, the department asked for an Amber Alert, officials said.
At the time the Amber Alert was issued, police said Daniel was likely in the company of Konstantin Morozov, 48, who is 6 feet tall, weighing 180 pounds who has brown hair and brown eyes.

The car Konstantin Morozov was initially driving, a 2015 blue Volkswagen Golf hatchback, was found, according to the California Highway .
A second vehicle he was believed to be driving, a 2017 black Jeep Cherokee, with California license plate number 7XZK698, was located in Santa Barbara, Santa Maria police reported.
Authorities did not say whether Konstantin Morozov has been found.
