Citrus Heights police area looking for help identifying a man who entered a woman’s home through an open window and sexually assaulted her.

The Police Department received a 911 call about 6:30 a.m. Thursday from an older woman who reported that she had been sexually assaulted in her home in the 7100 block of Wonner Way by a man she did not know. The man had left on foot.

Although the woman had no visible signs of trauma, officers were able to confirm that the sexual assault had occurred, the news release said.

Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the assailant.

A preliminary investigation indicated that the man entered the house through an open window, the news release said. Although the victim did not know the man, police said they believe the assault is an isolated incident.

The man was described as white, in his early 30s, approximately 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighing about 140 pounds. He had long brown hair tied in a pony tail, brown eyes and was clean shaven. He was wearing a white T-shirt with no sleeves and white basketball-style shorts with green trim.

Police released a composite sketch of the man.
