A juvenile has been transported to an area hospital with stab wounds suffered in a fight at a Sacramento Regional Transit light-rail station.
Wendy Williams, an RT spokeswoman, said three juveniles were involved in an argument aboard an outbound train on light rail’s Gold Line just before 3 p.m. Monday. Two of the students were arguing with the third student, and when the train stopped at the 65th Street station, the three exited the train and got into a physical fight. One pulled a knife and cut the victim, she said, then both the suspects and the victim fled.
A transit agent at the station called police, who responded to the station. Williams said the victim then returned to seek aid and was transported to a hospital for treatment. Williams said she did not know the victim’s condition.
Although the physical fight erupted after the three got off the train, Williams noted that RT offers an mobile app, Alert SacRT, that passengers with smartphones can use to alert police to safety or security concerns at stations or aboard trains.
