A man was shot and killed at a house party just after midnight Sunday morning in the Parkway neighborhood of south Sacramento.

Sacramento police said officers were called to the 5600 block of Wardell Way at 12:30 a.m. to aid a gunshot victim, according to a department press release. He was lying in front of a home when they arrived.

Investigators learned there was a house party in the area, during which shots were fired. The adult man was pronounced dead at the scene by Sacramento fire medical personnel.

Where the bullets came from, the victim’s location when he was shot and the motive are all under investigation, the release said.
