Two people were injured in a hit-and-run Saturday night when a vehicle struck them in the crosswalk of Vallejo Way and Freeport Boulevard in Sacramento.
The victims were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Sacramento Police Department spokesman Eddie Macauley said.
The vehicle also struck a telephone pole and broke it in several places. There were downed electrical wires and Sacramento Municipal Utility District crews were called in, Macauley said.
According to a Nextdoor post from the Land Park neighborhood, the driver of the car jumped into another car and drove away. Police have a vehicle description and are investigating.
