Gordy and the other passenger were taken by Bi-County Ambulance to Rideout Medical Center in Marysville. Investigators determined that Gordy attempted to negotiate a left-hand turn in the roadway at a high rate of speed, but veered off of the right edge of the roadway.
The vehicle, a 2007 Ford Mustang, overturned several times and also struck a wooden power pole, severing it, before coming to a rest approximately 100 yards from the point where the vehicle left the roadway.
