The Galt Police Department reports that a freight train has derailed, blocking vehicle traffic on some streets.
The derailment was reported early Thursday afternoon in the areas of C and Fourth streets and A Street, Elm Avenue and McFarland Street, according to a Police Department Facebook post.
Police said there was no initial report of injuries and no hazardous materials were involved.
The area is expected to be blocked for several hours. A Street, and Kost and Twin Cities roads area open to traffic.
