A 65-year-old man died at around 6 p.m. Sunday in a freeway crash near West Sacramento.

The victim, a Novato resident whose name has yet to be released, was riding his Yamaha motorcycle west on Interstate 80 near Harbor Boulevard when he reached stopped traffic. The motorcyclist did not slow down as he smashed into the back of a black Ford SUV, flying off the bike. He died from injuries at the scene.

It is currently unclear whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision, which remains under investigation.
