A man has been arrested in an early Sunday morning shooting that occurred following a concert in South Lake Tahoe.

Police received reports about 2:40 a.m. of a shooting at Beach Retreat & Lodge at 3411 Lake Tahoe Blvd., where a concert had just ended. A Beach Retreat employee followed the suspected shooter to the parking lot of a CVS store at 3471 Lake Tahoe Blvd, according to a Police Department news release, and officers detained several people in that area.

An investigation determined that the suspect, identified by police as 30-year-old Timothy Althouse of South Lake Tahoe, had been involved in an argument after the concert with the victim, whom he knew. Althouse allegedly pulled a gun and fired one round at the victim’s legs. The victim was not struck and Althouse left the scene, the news release said.

Officers contacted Althouse and located a .40 caliber semi-automatic handgun nearby . The gun had been reported as missing to the Redding Police Department around 2015, the news release said.

Althouse was booked into the El Dorado County jail on suspicion of assault with a firearm. His bail was set at $75,000.

Anyone with information regarding the case is asked to call the South Lake Tahoe Police Department at 530-542-6100. Those who wish to remain anonymous can call Lake Tahoe Secret Witness at 530-541-6800.
