Sacramento police and the county coroner’s office have taken over the investigation of a body found floating Tuesday in the Sacramento River near the Little Pocket neighborhood.
A fisherman first noticed the body in the water near Seamas Avenue and Riverside Boulevard about 10:40 a.m. Tuesday. Firefighters retrieved the male body from the water.
There were no obvious signs of trauma to the body. A police spokesman said it appeared that the body had been in the water for an extended period of time. The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will help determine what caused the man’s death.
