Firefighters found the body of a man inside a burned travel trailer in Nevada County early Thursday.
Fire crews responded about 1:15 a.m. to a 911 call reporting a fire in the 11000 block of Miners Way in Rough and Ready. They arrived to find a travel trailer engulfed in flames. After about 40 minutes, the fire was extinguished and firefighters found what appeared to be human remains inside the burned trailer, according to a Nevada County Sheriff’s Office news release.
Sheriff’s deputies responded and confirmed that the remains were those of an adult male.
After speaking with neighbors, deputies obtained a tentative identification of the body, the news release said. The man’s name has not been released pending an autopsy and notification of family.

The cause of the fire, and the man’s cause and manner of death are under investigation. Thus far, there is no indication of foul play, according to the news release.
