Sacramento resident James Hunt has been identified as the man fatally shot Sunday night in the South Hagginwood neighborhood.
Several witnesses told The Sacramento Bee they heard five gunshots ring out about 9:40 p.m. Sunday outside Westwind Apartments. Hunt, 30, was found bleeding from multiple gunshot wounds in front of the apartment complex at 950 Eleanor Ave. and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Residents appeared not to recognize Hunt and said they didn’t believe he lived in the apartment complex. Homicide detectives began their investigation after his body was found behind the building next to wrappers and empty cigarettes boxes.
