Two people were arrested after a shooting Thursday night in Del Paso Heights led to an eight-hour SWAT investigation inside a house.
Sacramento Police Department officers responded to the 700 block of Grand Avenue about 10 p.m. after ShotSpotter detected gunfire in the area. They found a man bleeding from multiple upper-body gunshot wounds and a car with bullet holes, as well as evidence suggesting someone could be armed inside a house associated with the shooting, Sgt. Vance Chandler said.
The victim was taken to an area hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening while SWAT operators set up a perimeter around the house before entering, Chandler said. SWAT team members remained inside the house until 6:15 a.m. Friday, and reopened the 700 block of Grand Avenue at 6:33 a.m.
One man was arrested Friday morning on suspicion of possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of ammunition by a felon, Chandler said. Another man was arrested on suspicion of a parole violation. Chandler declined to identify the suspects, citing an ongoing investigation.
