A woman was arrested and a man was hospitalized with injuries after his vehicle crashed during a pursuit in Yolo County.
The two are suspected of identity theft, according to a Yolo County Sheriff’s Office news release.
A deputy stopped to investigate Monday when he saw the pair engaged in an apparent dispute at the Elkhorn boat ramp. The man suddenly left the area in a vehicle, traveling northbound at high speed on Old River Road, the news release said.
The deputy gave chase but lost sight of the vehicle in heavy fog after the vehicle nearly collided head on with a southbound truck and veered into a field.

Moments later, the suspect vehicle was found crashed near the northbound Interstate 5 on-ramp from County Road 22. The man had suffered serious injuries and was taken to an area hospital, the news release said.
The woman, who had been left behind at the boat ramp, was found hiding in the area.
A subsequent investigation found that the couple were in possession of a stolen handgun, as well as paperwork and mail with personal identification information of multiple people, according to the news release.
Felicia Gomez, 26, of Woodland, was booked into Yolo County Jail on suspicion of possessing a loaded handgun, possessing stolen property, identity theft and conspiracy.
The man was still receiving medical treatment for his injuries Tuesday, and sheriff’s officials said his name is being withheld until he is booked.
