The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office has released the identity of the man killed while walking on the roadway near the Isleton Bridge in south Sacramento County.
Greg Sturman’s adult son and daughter identified him as the victim in Tuesday morning’s crash, per the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office. It was not clear where he had been living.
A possible transient, Sturman, 47, was walking on Isleton Road at around 4:50 a.m. Tuesday when he was hit by a southbound car, according to a California Highway Patrol news release.
The car’s force shot Sturman down an embankment on the side of the road before he came to rest in a field below, the release said. CHP officers initially believed him to be 25 to 35 years old.
