Teen wounded in parking-lot shooting at Ross store in Woodland

An 18-year-old man was taken to a hospital Monday afternoon following a shooting in the parking lot outside a Ross Dress for Less store in Woodland.

Police received a call at 3:12 p.m. reporting a shooting in the parking lot at 1388 E. Main St. Officers arrived and found the teen with gunshot wounds that are not believed to be life-threatening, said Sgt. Dallas Hyde, Woodland Police Department spokesman.

Witnesses reported hearing three shots, and police determined that the shots were fired into a vehicle occupied the victim. The injured man was the only person in the vehicle and no one else was injured, Hyde said.

No description of the shooter or possible vehicle was available Monday afternoon. Hyde said investigators were reviewing video from surveillance cameras in the area.
