Yuba County sheriff’s detectives are conducting a coroner’s investigation into the deaths of two people found with gunshot wounds early Monday morning at an Olivehurst residence.
Deputies responded shortly before 1:30 a.m. to a 911 call reporting shots fired in a home in the 1900 block of 11th Avenue. They found a 34-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to the chest and a 36-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the head, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release.
Deputies immediately began CPR, but the woman died at the scene. The man was transported to Rideout Memorial Hospital in Marysville and was pronounced dead shortly after he arrived, the news release said.
The names are being withheld until their families are notified.
The Sheriff’s Office said autopsies will be conducted to determine the official cause of death.
