Sacramento police are investigating the death of a man after the Sacramento Fire Department responded to a 911 call at a home Thursday night in the Tahoe Park area.
Police were called to the 3500 block of 63rd Street about 8:10 p.m. Fire personnel had pronounced the man dead and contacted police after noting some circumstances indicating the man might not have died of natural causes, said Officer Linda Matthew, Police Department spokeswoman. She said the 911 call came from someone at the home.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office website identified the man as 52-year-old Gary James Wadkins.
Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators responded to the scene and took over the investigation. Officers canvassed the area for evidence and potential witnesses.
