6:40 a.m. update:

Skokan was found outside a residence in his neighborhood Wednesday morning, very cold but otherwise unhurt. He was reunited with his friends and family.

Original post:

Authorities are looking for a 78-year-old man with a mental impairment who disappeared from North Highlands on Tuesday night.

Jack Skokan was last seen around 10 p.m. at his home on the 4100 block of Galbrath Drive, according to a media release from the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department.

Skokan is a white 5-foot-5 man who weighs approximately 160 pounds and has short gray hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a parka, sweatpants and slippers, all black, and he suffers from a medical condition that can cause him to easily become disoriented and confused.

Though Skokan does not have access to a vehicle, investigators do not know if he left on foot or received a ride from an unknown person. Temperatures in North Highlands dipped into the low 30s overnight, according to the National Weather Service.

Anyone with knowledge of Skokan’s whereabouts is asked to call the Sheriff’s Department at (916) 874-5115.
