A man was shot and killed while sitting inside his car Monday night outside of Cambridge Apartments in the Arden-Arcade area.

Several residents near Edison Avenue and Truax Court placed 911 calls after hearing multiple gunshots at around 9:45 p.m., according to a Sacramento County Sheriff's Department media release.

Deputies arrived to find a car parked on the street with a man inside bleeding from at least two bullet wounds. They attempted life-saving measures before Sacramento Metro Fire personnel pronounced the man dead at the scene.

No motive had been identified and no suspect information had been released as of Tuesday morning. The victim's identity had not been released.

Edison Avenue remain closed from a western boundary of Truax Court to an eastern boundary of Bell Street throughout the night.
