Two Woodland men were arrested after leading law enforcement officers in a pursuit following a shooting in Knights Landing that injured three people.
The Yolo County Sheriff’s Office received 911 calls about midnight Thursday regarding a shooting at 9478 Railroad St. in Knights Landing. Several rounds were fired into a detached garage next to a residence, wounding three people inside the garage, according to a Yolo County Sheriff’s Office news release.
A male suffered gunshot wounds to his back and hands, and a female was wounded in the arm, the news release said. He was taken by air ambulance and the female, by ground ambulance, to UC Davis Medical Center for treatment. A second male was treated at the scene for a minor wound to his arm, the news release said.
Information regarding a vehicle possibly related to the shooting was broadcast to law enforcement agencies. Woodland police found and attempted to stop the vehicle on southbound Interstate 5 at County Road 102. The vehicle fled, leading to a pursuit that was taken over by the California Highway Patrol, the news release said.
The pursuit went through Rio Linda and Sacramento, then back toward Woodland on I-5. The vehicle eventually stopped on I-5 at the County Road 102 exit, according to the news release.
Isaac Morales, 18, and Ernesto Martinez, 19, both of Woodland, were arrested on suspicion of offenses related to the vehicle pursuit. A juvenile who was a passenger in the vehicle was arrested for violation of probation and alcohol-related offenses, and booked into juvenile hall, the news release said.
