A motorcyclist died in a Sunday afternoon collision in North Highlands.
Sacramento County sheriff’s deputies were on patrol when they came upon the crash about 4:50 p.m. on Watt Avenue just south of Elkhorn Boulevard, according to a California Highway Patrol news release.
The motorcycle was southbound on Watt Avenue when a blue sport-utility vehicle making a left turn into a parking lot turned directly in front of the motorcycle and the two vehicles collided, fatally injuring the rider, the news release said.
The motorcyclist’s name has not been released pending notification of family.

Drugs and alcohol are suspected of being factors in the collision, according to the CHP.
